Goal –
Provide an alternative home for the possum by constructing a sturdy ‘weatherproof’ model of a possum house.
Evidence of work will be within their work portfolio, and will consist of drawings, photographic and written evidence of their processes and findings.
– During the activity formative feedback will be given to students on their draft design.
– Teacher observations and annotated notes will be taken.
Evidence to be collected:
Students will need to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding in their portfolios.
What will be Assessed:
Marking the students portfolios against the marking rubric
– The quality of student’s rationales for their nesting box design and material choices.
– Their rationals for their identified design requirements
– Their creativity in their design
– Student’s ability to investigate and describe their design and findings.
